Action Items

Voting: How do we alert people who are eligible to vote. Let’s use the language of having to have attended one meeting within the past year, and when/where to vote. The people of the Whiteaker received the mailer, where the information was added. Chris will email from his list, Angie will post it on the Whiteaker Business Page, Margaret will scan the mailer and post it on the Neighborhood Open Page. Chris: Should we have our voting meeting in the church? It can hold 50% capacity. Will bring it up with Eli. We could use a projector screen to add those that are unwilling to meet in person.

Email: Can we remove all of the devices tonight? Chris has removed them today. Can we change the password again? Chris will change it again.

Minutes: Angie will post a directive to read all minutes for approval for the April board meeting. Angie will connect with Andrew to make sure he has access again.

Charter: The way we are doing our elections is not the same way we voted to change in the charter. We wanted to make it so there were staggered elections to reduce a “brain drain”.

New Subcommittee: It would be nice to have a sub-committee on homeless issues. We would like to organize/work with these groups. Could we move those not in the W/J park into the park. It currently houses 176 people, Chris: I believe that it could house 100 more. Chris will bring the subcommittee up for a vote at the next meeting. Dilenia: Would it be the council’s job to work on safety, trafficking issues? Chris: Chief Skinner said they were hiring more Community Resource Officers. Park Ambassadors are being paid to be there. Dilenia: there are grants for community and security that can go to community organizations. Chris: There is self-policing in the park. Anand: We should connect those that would like to start a neighborhood safety patrol with the park ambassadors. Chris: Group “The Way Home” has noticed overlap in services provided.

We will use confident-boosting sources like trusted PCP’s and faith leaders . When talking about the science piece, talk about herd immunity and how it can get us back to “normal”. Gail: Seconded. Passed.
