Our Impact

Your Whiteaker Community Council has been receiving funding from a number of grants to improve the lives of those in the neighborhood. So far, with your participation and support, we have had the following impact: 

  • Thousands of dollars provided to Whiteaker businesses to support COVID-19 vaccine confidence

  • 800+ vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus

  • 100+ tested for COVID-19 

  • 14 hand sanitizer stations around the neighborhood to reduce the spread of the virus, as well as to reduce the financial load on our local businesses. 

  • All finances uploaded to QuickBooks for better accounting and tracking

  • New WCC Transportation Committee created in 2021

  • It’s first full time staff in 40+ years, as well as 7 additional contracted employees from 2020 - 2021

    $36,000 and counting spent at small Whiteaker businesses and contractors in the neighborhood including: Nelsons Taqueria, New Day Bakery, Bruns’ Red Apple Market, Red Barn Natural Grocery, De Nang Vietnamese Eatery, Rooted Space, Slice Pizzeria, El Rancho Meat Market, Hop Valley, Backyard Farmer, Old Nicks, Crux Cafe, Juanita’s Pupuseria, Elevation Bouldering Gym, The Wheel Apizza Pub, Equiano Coffee, Instaprint and more!

  • 800+ Neighbors Vccinated Against COVID-19

    Through the hard work of the WCC, both the board and neighborhood members, it’s community partners, and other volunteers, there have been more than 800 friends, family, and community members vaccinated for COVID-19 in the neighborhood through our regular wellness clinics.

    Hand sanitizer refill and hygiene stations at 14 sites including: Oakshire Brewing, Old Nicks, Backyard Farmer, El Rancho Meat Market, Bruns’ Red Apple Market, Burrito Brigade, New Day Bakery, Nelsons Taqueria, Rooted Space, Sweet Life Patisserie, Blairally Vintage Arcade, as well as with community partners such as HIV Alliance, Sponsors, and the Eugene Mission.
